【摘要】:Thecompressivestrengthofspecimenspreparedandtestedbythistestmethodalongwithdensityandvoidspropertiesareusedforlaboratorymixdesignofbituminousmixtures.OneapproachisdescribedinASTMSTP252.83.1.1Thistestmethodalsodescribesthemethodsformolding,curing,andtestingofspecimensbeingevaluatedbyTestMethodD1075.3.1.2Whenusedinconjunctionwithothermixturephysicalproperties,thecompressivestrengthmaycontributetotheoverallmixturecharacterizationandisonefactordeterminingitssuitabilityforuseundergivenloadingconditionsandenvironmentasahighwaypavingmaterial.TypicalvaluesofminimumcompressivestrengthsfordesignofbituminousmixturesbythistestmethodfordifferenttrafficdensitiesaregiveninTable401-1ofthex201C;StandardSpecificationsforConstructionofRoadsandBridgesonFederalHighwayProjects.x201D;7Somestatedepartmentsoftransportationandfederalagencieshavespecificrequirementsoftheirownbasedontheirexperiencewiththistestmethod.Theagenciesshouldbeconsultedfortheirspecificrequirementsifworkistomeettheirstandards.Reheatedmixturesarepermissibleinthistestmethod,buttheresultingcompressivestrengthswillbehigherthanfornewlypreparedmixturesduetothechangeinthebinderviscosity,anelementofthecompressivestrengthasmeasuredundertheseloadingconditionsandtemperature.9SeeNote1.1.1Thistestmethodprovidesamethodformeasuringthecompressivestrengthofcompactedbituminousmixtures.Itisforusewithspecimensweighed,batched,mixed,andfabricatedinthelaboratory,aswellasformixturesmanufacturedinahot-mixplant.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
