【摘要】:Thin-plateweirsarereliableandsimpledevicesthathavethepotentialforhighlyaccurateflowmeasurements.Withproperselectionoftheshapeoftheoverflowsectionawiderangeofdischargescanbecovered;therecommendationsinthistestmethodarebasedonexperimentswithflowratesfromabout0.008ft3/s(0.00023m3/s)toabout50ft3/s(1.4m3/s).Thin-plateweirsareparticularlysuitableforuseinwaterandwastewaterwithoutsignificantamountsofsolidsandinlocationswhereaheadlossisaffordable.1.1Thistestmethodcoversmeasurementofthevolumetricflowrateofwaterandwastewaterinchannelswiththin-plateweirs.InformationrelatedtothistestmethodcanbefoundinRantz(1)andAckers(2).1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
