【摘要】:Thedeterminationoftraceimpurities(ontheorderofpartsperbillion)inultra-purewaterplacesextremerequirementsonallaspectsoftheanalyticalsystem.Thisisparticularlytruewhenubiquitousspeciessuchassodiumandchlorideareofinterestbecausetheycanpotentiallybeintroducedascontaminantsatalmosteverystepofananalyticalprocedure.Contaminationcanoccurduringsamplecollection,duringsamplestoragebyleachingofimproperlycleanedcontainers,duringsampletransfer,andbyhandlingwithpipets,syringes,etc.,andduringtheactualanalysisbycontaminatedreagentsandsamplecellsandloopsystems.Itisalsopossiblethattracecontaminantscanbelostfromsamplesbyvolatilizationorprecipitation,bydiffusionintothematrixofthecontainermaterial,andbyx201C;platingoutx201D;onthewallsofsamplinglinesbyflowphenomena.Strictadherencetoagivenprocedureisnecessarytoachievegoodresultsattracelevelsofanalysisbecauseverysmalldifferencesinprocedureexecutionwillaffectprecisionandtheadditionorlossofnanogramamountsofanalytemayaffecttheaccuracyofadetermination.1.1Thispracticecoversconceptsforhandlingultra-purewatersamplesneededforthemeasurementofever-decreasinglevelsofspecifiedimpuritiesthatareencounteredintheoperationofmodernhigh-pressureboilersandturbines.Thehandlingofblanksassociatedwiththeanalysisofultra-purewatersamplesisalsocoveredbythispractice.Thetechniquespresentedcanhelptheinvestigatorincreasetheaccuracyofanalysesperformed.1.2Thispracticeisapplicabletowaterandsteamsamplesfrom"zerosolidstreated"once-throughordrum-typeboilers,reactorcoolantwater,electronicgradewater,oranyotherprocesswaterwhereanalyteconcentrationsareinthelowpartsperbillion(microgramsperlitre)range.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specifichazardsstatementsaregivenin5.2.3.5,5.1,and5.3.7.
